Unix Systems Manager - Dublin

 

We are looking for a Unix Systems Manager to work under limited supervision provide system-level support / management of enterprise systems including installation, configuration and ongoing maintenance.  Provide advice on best practice with regard to configuring, supporting and maintaining all UNIX and associated systems.

Main duties & responsibilities:

  • Supports maintain and develop the UNIX systems
  • Provide ‘out of hours’ support as required
  • Manage the business applications and systems
  • Build servers and software to company standards as necessary
  • Assist in defining new standards in response to industry trends
  • Manage a small team of System Administrators

 Essential Competencies:

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritise own workload and work to exacting deadlines
  • Flexibility and adaptable in their approach to customer and business needs
  • Desire to learn about new products and keep abreast of new product developments
  • Must have excellent customer facing skills
  • Must have excellent follow-up skills
  • Team lead experience

 Education & Experience:

  • Degree educated in an IT discipline
  • Extensive experience with UNIX (Solaris / AIX / Redhat / CentOS)
  • Apache webserver
  • Tomcat
  • Networking
  • Cisco IOS
  • Checkpoint Firewall
  • Oracle
  • MySQL
  • Large E-commerce Systems
  • Team lead experience

Salary 75k+ plus excellent relocation package and benefits
